Verizon just launched its new video service over fiber optic lines (FiOS) in direct competition to the local cable company in Keller, TX. C4CC applauds the TX legislature and Governor for updating the antiquated franchise rules. The introduction of FiOS will give consumers in Keller, more choices, more control and the latest technology available.
Isn't it a shame that only the folks in Keller get to benefit from direct, head-to-head competition? Cable companies are doing their best to slow down any effort to bring competition in states and in Congress. Competition is at our doorstep now. Its time for the policy makers to open the door and usher in a new era of video service. A new era where the consumer has the power, not the providers and not the regulators.
