The new year is starting out with a bang for broadband content as Disney is looking to promote its channels and shows over broadband connections. Its clear that the company sees wide deployement of true high-speed broadband as a winning vehicle for its content. Just how long the consumer has to wait to have an alternative means to view Disney-owned content, and that of many other major content producers, depends on how soon policymakers at the federal level decide to modernize the franchise laws that are holding back the enormous growth potential of new and innovative broadband networks.
