Congress has the opportunity to give consumers something they truly want: choice. The House of Representatives will be voting to pass franchise reform legislation within the next week that will remove the barriers to competition from new entrants in the cable television marketplace. Consumers will have real choices, more control and better service as a result. Congress should pass the bill that came out of committee (passed by a big majority 44-12 in favor) and dismiss any amendments that will only serve to delay the benefits to consumers. Please write your Representative today asking them to support the bill. C4CC will keep you posted on when the vote is expected and any additional ways you can help.

Here's my question: We learn of the big phone companies' willingness to sell raw calling data to the NSA .
We know that the big phone companies'-sponsored legislation to completely overturn the cable tv and internet business models is on the fast track in congress .
Is there a connection?
