More choices and more competition is great but not at the expense of community access. Many communities don't realize what local access is because it is not required in their local cable franchise. However, the city officials that had the forethought to require Public, Education, and Government channels from their cable providers will be screwed with a national or statewide franchise because they will no longer have control of their community right of ways. Visit www.alliancecm.org or www.natoa.org for more information about why a large statewide or nationwide franchise is a bad idea.
